209 - Insulin Syringe in Case

This is a hypodermic syringe set in its case, specifically designed for the injection of insulin. It consists of the syringe body itself, along with two needles, a removable holder for the needles and syringe, and the case itself. The case and holder are rectangular and made of metal, and the holder has two sets of U-shaped metal that grasp the syringe and needles. The case has "B. Braun Melsungen" engraved on the lid, above which is the logo which is a striped diamon inside a circle surrounded by dots. The two needles are different lengths, with a push-fit top to afix to the syringe. The larger needle has "S" engraved on one side, and "I" on the other. The smaller one has "S" engraved on one side, and "16" on the other. The syringe body is made of glass, with "MADE IN ENGLAND" printed above "INSULIN" horizontally on the glass in blue. Below that, there is a measurement scale with CCs 0-2 on one side and 0-40 units on the other. The plunger is made of metal and has a sliding locking mechanism afixed to it, and the base of the syringe is also made of metal. The case shows moderate to heavy signs of corrosion both on the interior and exterior, with the removable holder and interior base of the case very corroded. Besides the corrosion, the case is very scratched. The syringe shows moderate signs of wear and tear, with the interior of the glass tubing discolored and opaque. The needles show mild signs of wear and tear, with small areas of scratching.
