1 - Prints and Photographs

Collection of prints, drawings and photographs of buildings and locations, either in Dublin or with a medical connection, including the buildings of sister Colleges and hospitals in the UK and India. Images of the College itself are in section VM/1/5

This section contains a collection of prints and photographs of individuals, collected by the College and by Dr Kirkpatrick. Those images belonging to Kirkpatick were donated to the College with the rest of his library and archive collection following his death, but since that time they have become mixed in with the College's own collection. There is an index in the Kirkpatrick archive to his engraving and photographic collection which can be used to identify many of the items in this section as part of that collection, it also shows that not all of Kirkpatrick's collection of engravings and photographs came to the College. The subject of the prints, drawings and photographs are mainly Irish medical men, but there are also images of foreign medical men as well as other historical and literary figures, mainly of Irish interest.
